Our Nurture Room

The aim of our Nurture room is to ensure that all children within our school are receiving a full and varied curriculum in a home/school environment which is comfortable and welcoming, whilst recognising and addressing their social/emotional and behavioural needs.

The provision is based in our Dragonflies Room and the children are encouraged to follow a routine designed to facilitate:- 

• Caring
• Sharing/ Co-operation
• Positive Thinking
• Communication Skills
• Confidence building
• Coping with change
• Improving self-awareness
• Developing individual strategies to support their learning

All activities are based on building self-esteem by modelling good behaviour and praising children's for their achievements.  The activities are delivered in a form that combines the Nurture Group Curriculum with the National Curriculum and staff work closely with class teachers to ensure all needs are met.
